Her father is a farm laborer and her mother takes care of the household. Despite their efforts it is difficult to meet the family's needs. Yeilin E is growing up in a poor community in the Latin American country of Guatemala. Homes may be made of clay bricks with tin sheets or of bamboo cane with straw roofs, depending on what is available. Families survive on corn, beans, eggs and milk or whatever homegrown food is available. The climate in this region is moderate and the terrain is rocky and dusty. Yeilin E is not in school at this time because the child is still too young. She likes to play with dolls. She helps at home by learning to do small tasks. She is in good health. Your sponsorship commitment will help provide Yeilin E and her community with greater access to nutritious food, improved health care and hygiene. Your support will also provide educational opportunities for children. Parents will be given training to help them enhance their family's standard of living.
